***THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN NEW YORK; NEED APPLICANTS WITH MILITARY ENGINEERING BACKGROUND***Working with a client of ours on a direct placement opportunity for a Electrical Power Supply Engineer. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering. The perfect candidate shall have demonstrated expertise in delivering power supply designs and products that meet customer expectations. The individual must be able to design using various topologies and techniques to achieve high power density, high reliability, rugged, manufacturable power supplies for military and industrial applications. He or she will have demonstrated abilities in switch-mode power supply design, digital control, P-spice and similar analysis tools, along with background in power packaging and layout.This company focuses on products for military ground fixed, naval and ground mobile applications that deliver three to 1000 Kilowatts in highly dense packages. The applicant should have sufficient background in power conversion at power levels up to KW to support functions within the high power supplies. The successful applicant will have 5+ years background and demonstrated expertise in developing and supporting power supply designs and products for high reliability and military applications. Background with power levels from 10-Ts Watts to 10-Ts or 100-T of KW, A-C-DC, DC-DC, DC-AIR CONDITIONED. The individual must understand and be able to develop switch-mode power supplies using various topologies and techniques to achieve efficient, reliable, rugged, and thermal packaging and layout of power electronics required. The applicant will be expected to thrive in a small company atmosphere where they will be involved with proposing solutions to customer specifications, development, test and production support of power conversion products.
